The Check-up Checklist

Before going to see your doctor for your next check-up, here are four things you should do, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

  1. Review your family’s health history and let your doc know if certain illnesses run in your family.
  2. Check to see if it’s time for you to do any general screenings or vaccinations, such as a mammogram, Pap test, prostate or colon cancer exam.
  3. Write down a list of issues and questions you have about your physical, mental, or emotional health to discuss with your doctor.
  4. Talk with your doc about anything you are planning to do in the future that might affect your health, such as cosmetic surgery or a weight loss program.
