Monkeypox Virus Latinx Community Townhall: What you need to know

On August 4th, the Biden Administration declared Monkeypox a public health emergency as cases rise across the country. Early available CDC data suggests the Monkeypox virus outbreak is disproportionately affecting Black and Hispanic men. The UnidosUS Esperanza Hope for All Vaccine Program (CDC-EHFA) in partnership with the Multinational Monkeypox Emergency Response of the CDC will be hosting a Latinx community townhall for partners who are positioned to make a difference with addressing the disproportionate impact of Monkeypox on our communities. Information on the current global outbreak of the Monkeypox virus and communication resources for prevention, treatment, and the reduction of stigma around the virus will be shared. Participants will also be able to share suggestions for improvement around public health messaging including how to address misinformation and feedback on their community needs.
