I am in the 8th week of recovery and after a few good days last week am back in bed every afternoon with sore throat and mouth, tight and sore chest and generally feeling a bit rubbish. How many times have I declared to people. “I think I’ve turned a corner” only to land up in bed again the next day. Got very asthmatic in 4th/5th week and still on steroid inhalers and would not think of hurrying anywhere for fear of getting too breathless. It’s certainly a weird disease.

Hi all. I am now in my 7th week of Covid and started to think there must be something more to my symptoms until I started finding articles like yours which have highlighted that it can last for this length of time. I am a health care professional. Throughout my Covid experience I have been lucky not to experience severe breathlessness and have managed to stay at home. However this illness has had a severe impact on my health and I have spent the majority of the time in and out of bed.

My husband and I are both recovered from the virus contracted they believe on April 11. We still have lingering effects such as shortness of breath, lack of breath, taste and smell and overall fear and depression. Just hoping that these things will subside over time.

I am on approximately in the six to nine week mark and though i am not experiencing the same level of intensity re symptoms, i am still very much not out of this. Read an article in The Guardian about how an epidemiologist got the virus and the “weird” symptoms that came with the virus. It was like reading my own list of wacky ways i feel awful. May we all make it through this and those not infected stay that way. I never saw anyone in my family for 5-6 weeks and being alone, terribly sick sucked
