One pill a day or one pill a week appeal to me. How big would the weekly one be?! I'm not injection phobic, but I'd not want a monthly injection or an 8 weekly one. Nor would I like an implant injected into me. Although I would consider the 6 monthly implant. But implants have to be removed - and I'd not want that. I'm suppose that having choice is the main thing. Some would prefer injections or implants over a daily pill, but not me.
This is very interesting! I am glad that there are more variety treatments underway. They definitely provide options. It is my hopes that although these are great treatment ideas, there will be a discussion about how this will impact those who choose to opt in.
The claim is that a benefit of a monthly injection is no reason to go to the pharmacy to pick up your pills. It's easy to see why this benefit falls flat. * HIV meds and other meds are picked up at the same time are not an extra burden. * A monthly visit to the doctor requires both a pill pickup at the pharmacy (for non HIV meds) and an injection appt. Two visits instead of one. * An emergency supply of meds by filling Rx after 25 days and preparing for a disaster with pills can't be done.

I'm a survivor of being HIV for the last 31 years. I am doing very well. My medications include four anti retroviral medications, twice a day. One pill sounds like heaven! I'd support it!
