AIDS is a stigmatizing term in 2023? I am both surprised and saddened to read that this may be so. It may also be a misnomer. The antiretroviral medications are so sophisticated and less troublesome to take that it's hoped most of those infected with HIV can be assured their infection will not progress to the clinical diagnosis of AIDS. But, as a society, we love our euphemisms.
