Tuesday, March 20, is National Native HIV/AIDS Awareness Day (NNHAAD). The observance sheds light on the impact the virus has on American Indians, Alaska Natives and Native Hawaiians in the United States. The day aims to encourage Native people to learn more about HIV/AIDS and its impact on their community. Specifically, it promotes testing and HIV counseling and also hopes to decrease stigma.
