Xavier University of Louisiana College of Pharmacy's Center for Minority Health and Health Disparities Research and Education (CMHDRE) will host its Fifth Health Disparities Conference March 6-8, 2012 in New Orleans, Louisiana. Conference participants will include clinicians (pharmacists, nurses, physician assistants, and other allied health professionals), health policy makers, health educators, and public and community health leaders whose work incorporates the use of mid-level providers to build partnerships to eliminate health disparities and improve health equity. This conference will include discussions on successful multidisciplinary models for improved health systems outcomes.

Once a year, Reunion Latina provides us with the opportunity to bring all of our experiences together in one powerful forum, in order to influence legislators, social and civic leaders. Institute attendees, including service providers, media representatives, elected officials, community leaders and their partners, experts in the field, and people living with HIV/AIDS participate in workshops and panels that highlight critical issues and promising solutions pertinent to those who are working to break the cycle of indifference and stigma in some of our nation’s most affected communities.
