Latino Youth Are Having Less Sex
Latino high school students in the United States are not as sexually active as they were five years ago, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and reported by Fox News Latino. Also, Latino youth who are having sex are more likely to be using contraceptives. From 2007 to 2011, the number of Latino youth who participated in sexual activities decreased by 3.9 percent. In addition, pregnancy rates dropped 14 percent in 2011, according to the Adolescent Pregnancy Prevention Campaign. Experts say these changes could be the result of shifting attitudes toward having bigger families as well as greater access to information about family planning and birth control.
