Yes, Hepatitis Can Be Treated

There are many new treatment options.

Hepatitis viruses and liver diseases strike millions of people in the United States every year, including a disproportionate number of Latinos.

Among all ethnic groups, Latinos have some of the highest risks of contracting, 
being diagnosed with or dying from hepatitis A and B viruses. In addition, they have a higher prevalence of hepatitis C compared with the general population.

Don’t think you’re at risk? If you’ve ever had unprotected sex or used drugs, keep reading.

Since hepatitis viruses don’t usually cause severe symptoms, it’s important to get tested, especially if you’ve had a blood transfusion, have used injection drugs or have had unprotected sex. If you test positive, there are many new treatment options. To find more information, go to hepmag.com.
