Sleep: Fiction vs. Fact
Fiction: Sleep is a luxury.
Fact: Nope, it’s a necessity. We can actually live longer without food than sleep.

Fiction: We can regain lost weekday zzz’s by sleeping in on the weekend.
Fact: You may sleep longer on the weekend, but the consequences of even one hour of lost sleep for one night can be an increase in heart attacks.

Fiction: Snoring is harmless.
Fact: Sez who? Snoring can be a sign of sleep apnea—a potentially dangerous sleep disorder—which can cause heart attacks and other health issues.

Fiction: Sleep surface doesn’t matter.
Fact: The right mattress and pillow is essential to getting a good night’s sleep. Why? Because the more relaxed your body is, the deeper sleep you’ll get.

Fiction: If you dream you’re falling and don’t wake up, you’ll die.
Fact: Not. We may feel like we’ve died when we wake up, but we will awaken, says Robert Oexman, DC, director of the Sleep to Live Institute in Joplin, MO.

Say Bye-Bye to Bodyfat
Establish a cardio routine. One key to shedding body fat is burning calories through cardio. According to the American College of Sports Medicine guidelines, you should aim for 2.5 hours of heart-pumping exercise each week. If you are juggling a long work day and kids, you can divide up those 150 minutes a week however you want—10 minutes one day, 45 minutes the next. The bottom line is fit it in, according to Life Fitness.
